This was a large project requiring MAJOR WordPress plugin and theme customizations. First was the homepage, the client had a very clear vision of how it should look and operate and we nailed it perfectly. However, not only did it need to work and look as expected, it also need to have a very user friendly back-end. The primary users would be non-technical journalists and would require a UI to load/edit articles, videos, flickr streams, etc. into the slider widgets in the homepage. We created a drag and drop admin area for them that is very easy to use.

Another large hurtle was integrating with the new NPR feed, providing song information. We created a way to parse this information into a page that display all the songs played on radio station for that day. A widget was also created to display live info. under the main menu. A custom post type was created for storing MP3 and Youtube attachments. Then a front-end was developped to allowing users to download and play certain songs. There are many other little features in the site that were handcrafted to exactly meet the clients needs…
